Rain-Safe Power Systems ⛈️

If you could un-invent something, what would it be?

  • Insulators ️: Power lines are attached to poles using porcelain or polymer insulators. These act as a “shield” that stops electricity from traveling down the wet pole, keeping the ground safe for you to walk on.
  • Earthing (Grounding) : Every system has a safety wire buried deep in the earth. If rainwater causes a current leak, the earthing system pulls that dangerous electricity away from the surface and dumps it safely into the ground.
  • Circuit Breakers ⚡: If water causes a short circuit, automatic switches (breakers) “trip” and instantly shut off the power. This prevents fires and shocks by killing the electricity supply in milliseconds!
